Volunteer Opportunities in Highlands Ranch

If you enjoy working closely with people or animals, then consider becoming a volunteer. Several organizations around our Highlands Ranch apartments always welcome assistance, whether you can work one day a month or a few hours a week. Volunteer opportunities in Highlands Ranch include:

Colorado Greyhound Adoption

Strictly run by volunteers, Colorado Greyhound Adoption finds loving homes for the animals in its care. Its main mission is to promote the adoption and welfare of retired racing greyhounds as wonderful family pets. The dogs live with foster families before being adopted to learn the basics of being a pet in a home.

The rescue is currently looking for meet and greet volunteers who can work two hours per month. The events take place across the Front Range, and this opportunity is perfect for those who enjoy educating others about this breed.

UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital

UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital opened in the summer of 2019. It combines the latest technology with innovation to bring leading-edge care to the residents of one of the fastest-growing areas in the United States. The physicians are among the best in Colorado, and they cover nearly every specialty.

The hospital’s volunteers make new friends and discover a new perspective while helping improve lives. Duties are based on one’s interests, experiences, and amount of free time. Opportunities include gift shop cashiers, welcoming ambassadors, and cuddling babies in the nursery.

Douglas County Libraries

Douglas County Libraries inspires a love of reading, discovery, and connection. In addition to loaning books and other materials, it also offers unique learning opportunities that go beyond the traditional classroom. Visitors can attend book club meetings, crafting classes, and fun annual events.

The volunteers help provide resources for both learning and leisure. They meet people from diverse backgrounds, and gain valuable skills while giving back to the community. Duties include reading to children, assisting with birthday parties, and helping adults improve their literacy skills.

In addition to these volunteer opportunities in Highlands Ranch, you can help another great cause in our area by visiting the Wild Animal Sanctuary just a short drive away.
