Pickleball has surged in popularity lately, and Coloradans can join the fun. It’s a low-impact and social sport that’s easy to learn. The following are places to play pickleball whether you’re new to the sport or an experienced player. They’re only a short drive from our apartments in Highland Ranch.
Highlands Ranch Community Association
The Highlands Ranch Community Association (HRCA) has recreation facilities and adult fitness programs during the year. The center has multiple indoor and outdoor pickleball courts and equipment rentals.
The HRCA offers group, private, and semi-private lessons for all levels of pickleball in Highlands Ranch. There are also pickleball socials and leagues for mixing and mingling. The HRCA is open seven days a week and welcomes drop-ins and reservations in-person or online.
Tanks Skate Park
Spend the day outdoors at Tanks Skate Park. This popular park has skate ramps, a roller hockey rink, and four outdoor pickleball courts. It offers adult pickleball clinics and leagues. Beginners would benefit from the introductory clinic that teaches you the rules and techniques of the game.
Courts are available either through an online reservation or first-come-first-served basis. There are equipment lockers, drinking fountains, and picnic tables for breaks between pickleball games. Tanks Skate Park is open from 7 a.m. to dusk seven days a week.
South Suburban Parks and Recreation
Both pickleball newbies and seasoned players will appreciate South Suburban Parks and Recreation’s offerings. Go from beginner to expert in three sessions of pickleball boot camp. Take private or semi-private lessons with two to four people for personal instruction.
South Suburban offers pickleball clinics and leagues if you prefer more social learning. Leagues are active in the spring, summer, and fall. Flex your skills in the center’s tournaments throughout the year. South Suburban has drop-ins or online court reservations for pickleball.
