Carson Nature Center
Explore Colorado nature at the Carson Nature Center. Outdoors, you can search for hundreds of wildlife species and watch as they explore their natural habitat. Then, head indoors where an interactive water table recreates the area’s famous 1965 flood. The nature center is closed on Mondays and holidays.
Bluff Lake Nature Center
An urban wildlife refuge, the Bluff Lake Nature Center is a place “where people and nature coexist and thrive.” Over the years, the land has drastically changed. It was originally an irrigation pond and later an airport buffer zone, and now welcomes thousands of visitors every year who come to enjoy an escape from the bustle of daily life. For added fun, don’t miss the Saturday bird walks. Weather permitting, they’re currently held on the first Saturday of every month. The guides are volunteers who know and love Bluff Lake and offer both 2 and 2.5-hour adventures. Registration closes at 3:00 p.m. on the Friday before the walk.
Majestic View Nature Center
Explore, discover, and learn at the Majestic View Nature Center. Its mission is to inspire environmental learning and interpretive connections with the community. Visitors find the 3,000-square-foot facility comes complete with wildlife exhibits and hands-on displays. Outside, you will discover regional plants and wildlife in the water-conserving demonstration garden. Additionally, the center is always looking for friendly volunteers. Depending on your interests, duties may include hosting, teaching, and photography.
