Reel In The Fun at One of These Local Fishing Spots

Going fishing is a great way to relax, spend time in nature, and give you the pleasure of challenging yourself. Not far from the apartments in Highlands Ranch are several community fishing holes where you can try your luck. These seasonally-stocked ponds are available for anyone with a fishing license who enjoys a beautiful outdoor environment close to home.

Cast a Line at Fly’n B Ranch

Fly’n B Ranch is the ideal destination to fish, unwind, or have a picnic. The park offers a variety of amenities including a fishing pier and dock, BBQ grills, and a large shelter pavilion. Look for recreational trails among peaceful surroundings where you might spot some local wildlife. Anglers can catch bluegill, largemouth bass, and plenty of channel catfish.

Catch and Release at Spring Gulch Pond

Spring Gulch Pond is a small, catch-and-release pond near the Chatfield Reservoir with shoreline access and two fishing piers. Anglers can park where the High Line Canal Trail starts and take a pleasant walk to the pond. The pond is known to yield black crappie, channel catfish, bluegill, and green sunfish. Grab your rod and use your best fishing flies at this lesser-known fishing spot.

Relax at Highlands’ Cheese Ranch Historic & Natural Area

Cheese Ranch Historic & Natural Area is a neighborhood gem for anyone who appreciates an adventurous hike or a bit of pond fishing close to home. The fishing pond is stocked with largemouth bass and bluegill and has a pier for easy casting. It is accessed via one of two verdant trails.
