Take a Sip at These 3 Cideries Around Highlands Ranch

Few things symbolize autumn more than apple cider. Luckily, Colorado is home to various cideries that use apples from local orchards. The following three cideries serve handmade apple cider and are just minutes from our apartments in Highlands Ranch, CO:

Waldschanke Ciders and Coffee

The owners of Waldschanke Ciders and Coffee named it after a Swiss-German word that means “forest tavern.” The founder, George Mueller, built the original cidery on a Switzerland forest preserve. The Denver location serves unfiltered Swiss-style cider with apples from nearby orchards. Waldschanke offers over 15 ciders on tap and even cider slushies in the summer.

 Haykin Family Cider

A husband and wife team, Daniel and Talia Haykin, run Haykin Family Cider in Aurora, CO. Haykin’s ciders have higher carbonation and few additives, tasting more like sparkling wine. You can visit for a glass or a flight to sample different ciders in person. The cider flavors range from sweet to semi-dry.

Colorado Cider Company

The Colorado Cider Company in Denver sources their apples from their local orchards. It’s a craft cidery specializing in all-juice hard ciders that are usually dry and crisp. Visitors can choose from over 20 ciders on tap in a single glass or a flight. Take home cider bottles and cans, or attend one of its Cider Festivals to sample different brews and flavors.

After enjoying your homemade cider, you can get fresh apples and produce at a local farmer’s marketContact us today if you have questions about life at Legacy at Highlands Ranch. We’d be delighted to speak with you and give you a private tour of our Highlands Ranch apartments.
